Another Reason Why PEC Should Adapt IEC

In this article, I have provided some reasons why PEC should be adapting IEC. The DTI-BPSTC became a recognized Testing Laboratory under the ASEAN Electrical and Electronic Equipment Mutual Recognition Arrangement ASEAN EE MRA.

In accordance to the ASEAN Sectoral MRA for Electrical and Electronic Equipment, the Joint Sectoral Committee for Electrical and Electronic Equipment (JSC EEE) listed the following Designated Conformity Assessment Bodies to undertake testing for the electrical and electronic equipment under the scope of designation of the respective ASEAN Member Countries.

The DTI Testing Laboratory is using IEC standards as its basis for testing. Moreso, DTI PN Standards for electrical equipment are based on IEC standards.

If PN standards used in testing electrical equipment in the Philippines are based on IEC, why would we use ANSI based PEC to install them? Some way, some how, these two standards need to converge.
